Our members are at the heart of everything we do, and that’s why we’re pleased to announce that TUH are returning $30 million straight back to members, as a result of savings from reduced claims made during the COVID-19 pandemic.

We’ll make payments directly into members’ bank accounts, so if you currently receive your claims payments into your bank account, there’s nothing more you need to do.

You are eligible to receive the cash give-back if:

  • You are a current TUH health fund member, holding an active TUH hospital and/or extras policy on both 30 June 2023 and on the date of payment

  • You are an Australian resident over the age of 18

All eligible members will receive a cash payment from Queensland Teachers’ Union Health Fund Limited (ABN 38 085 150 376).

No. There will be one payment made per membership, not one for each person on your cover.

Payments will be made using the same bank details you nominated for your claims payments. 

To change where you receive your payment, update your bank account details by 3 November 2023. It's quick and easy to update using one of the following methods:

Member Portal

  • Log in to your account

  • Select the 'Membership' tab

  • Select 'Change' under 'Benefits payments'

  • Update your bank account details

Member App

  • Open the TUH app on your phone

  • Select 'More'

  • Select 'Payment Settings'

  • Select 'Payment Details'

  • Update your bank account details

Call Us

  • Phone our friendly local Customer Contact Centre on 1300 360 701 to update your bank account details over the phone

The amount of give-back you can expect to receive will range from $100 to $2000 and will be based on your membership type.   

The payment amount will vary according to the:

  • Type of cover you have; for example, Hospital, Extras or both

  • Level of cover you have; for example, Basic, Bronze, Gold or Silver

  • Membership type; for example, Single, Family or Single parent

Payments will be made into your account by the end of November 2023.

Unfortunately, we are unable to send a cheque. To receive the give-back payment, we will require a BSB and an account number. Once payment is made, we can remove your bank account details from our systems, if requested.

If you’re eligible for a cash give-back payment, we’ll be in touch in the way you prefer – by mail or email.

We will also send a confirmation once the payment has been made into your nominated bank account.
