Out-of-pocket expenses
An extras out-of-pocket cost is the difference between the amount a service provider charges and the benefit we pay. For example, if a physiotherapist charges $70 for a visit and we pay a benefit of $40, the out-of-pocket cost would be $30.
Visiting a preferred dental or optical provider may reduce the out-of-pocket costs you are required to pay.
