TUH members can access primary knee and hip joint replacement surgery with all of the following services covered:
surgeon
anaesthetist
surgical assistant
rehabilitation
hospital fees.
The removal of these costs will hopefully make joint replacement surgery more accessible to you, should you ever need it.

If you have one of our hospital policies that include joint replacement cover and have served your 12-month waiting period, you may be eligible for no out-of-pocket costs* with Short Stay Joint Replacement Program.
Personalised pre-habilitation and early engagement with East Sydney Private Hospital clinical team, focuses on preparing patients physically and mentally for surgery.
On the same day as surgery, patients may be up and walking with the support of physiotherapy and nursing staff.
The rapid recovery program is founded on cross-collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team; this includes orthopaedic surgeons, anaesthetists, clinical nurse specialists, physiotherapists and nursing staff who are involved in a patient’s pre and post-surgery care.
Early discharge from the hospital means that patients are able to recover in the comfort of their own home within three days after surgery.
Supported home recovery package, patients are provided with in-home physiotherapy should their surgeon deem it necessary.
Removal of out of pocket costs makes primary joint replacement surgery accessible to more everyday Australians.
