TUH Health Fund was founded over 50 years ago by a group of Queensland teachers wanting access to better health insurance for the education community.
We get what it’s like working in education. You spend your working lives looking after others and we’re committed to looking after you in return. Not just you - your family too! We don’t believe in profiting from ill-health. We are, and have always been, a not-for-profit organisation.
Our membership extends well beyond those directly employed as teachers. We welcome a huge range of education-related professions, including academics, admin and support staff who are also union members. In fact, TUH membership is open to all Australian union members and their families.

Our governance
TUH is governed by a board of directors which includes members of our education unions and independent directors. The board and its committees set the strategic direction for the organisation and oversee operational issues set out in the Board Governance Charter.
