Everyone’s health care needs are different. But whether you’re always on the go or prefer to take it easy, we recommend you review your cover over time to make sure it includes what matters to you.

We haven't called out all the elements and inclusion in hospital cover. Why? Because it’s a personal choice, shaped by your needs-based cover levels: basic, bronze, silver, gold.
Some people want basic cover to avoid paying the Medicare Levy Surcharge or Lifetime Health Cover loading that kicks in at age 30. Or, to look after a particular health condition like diabetes requiring an insulin pump or an extreme back condition, you might need to dial it up to a silver or gold cover.

Treatment as an inpatient in a private hospital for medically necessary treatment.
- Accommodation, theatre fees, intensive care, cardiac care, government approved prostheses and hospital medication for all services included in your cover.
Savings tips
If you have a hospital visit coming up, ask your doctor for an estimate of possible costs (called informed financial consent) and ask if they’ll charge you under our access gap scheme which will help save on out-of-pocket costs.
And the younger you’re when you join, you might be eligible an age-based discount on selected covers – wow!

No matter your age, there’s a bunch of extras you can use. Most importantly you want to keep yourself well and recover quickly if you do have an injury or require surgery. We have extras for when you’re healthy. Extras help you when you’re healing and some super helpful and handy inclusions that we bet you didn’t know about!
Healthy extras are designed for you to stay well. Covering part or all the cost of out of hospital treatments like physio, massage, optical and dental.

And did you know?
Wisdom teeth removal at the dentist is covered under general dental (for in-hospital surgery you’ll need hospital cover)
Play contact sport? You can claim 100% (no-gap) for mouthguards at the Health Hub and our preferred providers.
Some extras take care of chronic health conditions – screenings, monitors and other specialised equipment you need.
Out of towner? We’ve got you covered. If you live over 150km from your treatment we have a Remote Travel Allowance to help with travel and accommodation costs.
