Australian Government rebate on private health insurance
What is the Private Health Insurance Rebate?
To make private health insurance more affordable, the Australian Government provides a rebate on premiums. The rebate applies to anyone eligible for Medicare benefits and depends on both your household income and your age.
There are two ways to receive your rebate:
as a reduction in your health insurance premium for the financial year. To enable us to apply the rebate to your policy, you need to send us a completed Rebate Application form.
as a rebate claimed annually in your individual income tax return.
